Michigan School Boards Welcome Childrens Book Author Elizabeth Hoadley for

Flushing, Michigan (PRWEB) November 10, 2011

Elizabeth A. Hoadley, CEO, The Sunshine Workshop, recently accepted invitations to speak at a number of Michigan elementary schools during National Reading Month in March 2012, including the Flushing, Flint, Bloomfield and Oakland County School Districts (Detroit/Suburban Detroit).

In a statement released yesterday, Hoadley stated, I thank them for the invitations and am delighted to accept. I am both honored and humbled to participate in these events and look forward to meeting the children."

I love to see childrens eyes light up when I read different books, like I Know I Can, or Willo, said Hoadley. The room becomes quiet when Willo the tree is cut down and becomes even more silent when he is turned into a boat and later abandoned after he is no longer useful. Theres always a burst of enthusiasm and a sigh of relief when a little boy comes to save him from a tragic end.

Typically, elementary schools throughout the United States celebrate National Reading Month with a variety of activities, including appearances by well known and highly regarded authors such as Hoadley, said The Sunshine Workshops Chief Operating Officer, Shayna Dubbin Harris. These events occur annually in most US elementary schools as part of the Department of Educations Read More Books Literacy Programs. Meeting authors such as Hoadley is one way students are encouraged to read and write books.

Since the release of I Know I Can, published in May, 2011, and the enormous positive response to it, Hoadley has accepted many opportunities to speak to a variety of audiences. Invitations are still coming in, said Dubbin Harris.

I Know I Can, written by Hoadley and illustrated by 6-year old Kailee, encourages children to believe in themselves and their natural gifts, said Dubbin Harris. Using historical figures, from Joan of Arc to Terry Fox, Hoadley poetically demonstrates that people who have achieved greatness have all had one thing in common ~ a belief in their hopes and dreams despite ridicule from others. Children often identify with the 6-Year old illustrator of the book, Kailee, when they see her painting the illustrations on YouTube I Know I Can ~ 6 Years Old and 6 Books Published.

I love how children empathize with Missy and Lizzy in I Know I Can, when they hear other kids are poking fun at Missys dreams and ridiculing what she loves most, said Hoadley. Children instinctively know right from wrong and our books help them to visualize this.

The Sunshine Workshop is busy writing and illustrating two upcoming childrens books Vivache, a story of a charming family of fish who live in the canals of Venice, each with different personality traits and The Three Graces of Aquila, a story of friendship and forgiveness inspired after witnessing earthquake reconstruction efforts in Aquila, Italy. Both books are due for release in early 2012.

The Sunshine Workshop produces childrens books, artwork, animation, musical theatre productions, and related products and has offices in the United States and Canada. Their products are available in stores, on Amazon, through their website TheSunshineWorkshop.com and their Ray of Sunshine Independent Distributors.
