PadWorx Studios Earns Third 'App of the Week' Title

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) October 28, 2011

PadWorx Studios, an award-winning developer of enhanced book/apps for mobile devices, has scored a 'threepeat' as ''Pride and Prejudice and Zombies: The Interactive eBook" becomes their third title to be awarded Apple's 'App of the Week' honors, following previous winners 'Dracula: The Official Stoker Family Edition' and 'A Christmas Carol for iPad'.

'Pride and Prejudice and Zombies: The Interactive eBook' was created in partnership with Quirk Books and features 400 pages, hundreds of Illustrations, original music and sound effects, and more than 200 touch interactions. PadWorx co-founders Jeffrey Alan Schechter and Tod Baudais are veterans of the film and television industries, so each PadWorx title is as cinematic an experience as a person can have while reading a book. Common PadWorx touches in their books include extensive use of music and sound effects, digital lighting and particle effects, animated illustrations and sequences, and 3D rendered characters, objects, and environments.

Even though PadWorx has made a name for itself by creating edgy, text-based titles for older readers, PadWorx current slate of projects are very diverse. "We built our own publishing technology so we're virtually unlimited in the types of books and apps we can create," says Schechter. "We're currently working on a massive visual history book, a sports education book, a book for early readers based on a popular television series, interactive picture books of two bestselling children's titles, and an extensive visual and audio history of an iconic British musician. We've even just started discussions to create the annual report for a leading museum."

With such an diverse slate of books coming out, does PadWorx anticipate another 'App of the Week' in their future? "We never craft a book thinking it will become 'App of the Week,'" says Schechter. "We just try to make the best, most innovative products we can for ourselves and our clients. We figure that if we like what we're making others will, too."
